Inspiration
We’re Pablo (@pabloprompt) and Nabil (@nabilidoso) — two friends obsessed with horror. We grew up watching scary movies and always dreamed of making one ourselves. With Paranormal AIctivity: The Liban Case, we wanted to test a question that haunted us: can artificial intelligence truly create fear? Not jump scares, but that slow, lingering chill that stays after the screen fades to black.
What it does
It’s a 1-minute 20-second horror trailer, the opening glimpse of a larger story — a mysterious disappearance captured through the lens of AI. Our goal was to blend human storytelling with AI visuals to create tension, atmosphere, and emotion. We wanted viewers to finish it wondering: what was real, and what was generated?
How we built it
We used Sora 2 pro to generate the core sequences, Higgsfield to maintain character and visual consistency, and Filmora for editing, pacing, and sound design. Every shot went through multiple iterations until we achieved a coherent narrative flow. The entire project was self-funded, crafted late at night between tests, renders, and whispered “what ifs.”
Challenges we ran into
Keeping characters consistent across shots was brutal — one tiny change could break the illusion. Sora 2’s high cost and long render times forced us to plan every second with surgical precision. We had to make the AI serve the story, not the other way around.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to create a film-quality trailer using only AI and minimal editing tools. The response was overwhelming — over 725,000 views on Instagram and hundreds of comments from people who couldn’t believe it was AI-generated. It proved to us that creativity still beats technology, even when technology is the tool.
What we learned
AI doesn’t replace creativity — it amplifies it. But without direction and emotion, it’s just noise. We learned that horror is not about effects; it’s about rhythm, silence, and suggestion — the moment before the scream.
What's next for Paranormal AIctivity: The Liban Case
We’re developing it into a short film — expanding the story, characters, and mystery. Our goal is to explore how AI can become part of authentic filmmaking, not a gimmick but a brush for new worlds of fear and imagination. What started as an experiment now feels like the beginning of something much bigger.
