Inspiration

Paradise Empire was inspired by the appeal of building and growing something from humble beginnings into a thriving destination. Many management games focus on cities, factories, or theme parks, but we wanted to explore a fantasy that feels both aspirational and relaxing: owning a network of private tropical islands connected by luxury cruises.

We were also inspired by cruise vacations and island resorts, where each destination has its own identity and attractions. The idea of starting with a small island and gradually expanding into a tourism empire provided a clear progression goal while creating opportunities for meaningful economic decisions.

What it does

Paradise Empire is a tourism management simulation where players build attractions, attract tourists, earn revenue, and expand to new islands. Each new destination unlocks new opportunities for growth and strategic decision-making.

How we built it

We designed the game around a simple but rewarding loop: build attractions, attract tourists, generate revenue, upgrade facilities, and purchase new islands. The concept was structured around a focused MVP to ensure the core experience remains engaging and achievable.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was balancing scope with simplicity. We had many ideas, including VIP tourists, seasonal events, and advanced cruise management, but needed to prioritize the features that best supported the core gameplay loop.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of creating a clear progression system centered around island ownership and expansion. The cruise network adds a unique twist to the management genre while reinforcing the fantasy of building a tourism empire.

What we learned

We learned that strong progression and clear player goals are more important than adding numerous features. Focusing on the core loop helped us create a more cohesive and scalable design.

What's next for Paradise Empire

Future plans include additional island types, luxury tourists, seasonal events, cruise customization, leaderboards, and destination-specific activities that deepen the tourism management experience.
