Inspiration

As college students, we often face difficulty finding previous-year question papers before exams. Papers are usually scattered across WhatsApp groups, Telegram channels, seniors, personal drives, or different websites. Finding the right paper for a specific college, branch, semester, and subject can take a lot of time.

This inspired us to build a centralized platform where students can easily find, upload, and share previous-year question papers and make exam preparation more organized.

What it does

Our platform provides a college-wise repository of previous-year question papers.

Students can select:

  • College
  • Course
  • Branch
  • Year/Semester
  • Subject

and access relevant question papers from previous years.

Students and teachers can also contribute by uploading question papers. Uploaded papers can go through verification/moderation before being made publicly available.

In the future, the platform can also analyze multiple years of papers to identify frequently asked questions and important topics.

How we built it

We are building the platform using a modern web-based architecture.

  • Frontend: React.js
  • Styling: Tailwind CSS
  • Backend/Database: Supabase
  • Authentication: Supabase Authentication
  • File Storage: Supabase Storage
  • AI features: Planned for question-paper analysis

The database is structured around colleges, courses, branches, semesters, subjects, users, and question papers. This allows students to quickly filter and find the exact papers they need.

Challenges we ran into

One of our main challenges was designing the platform so that question papers could be properly organized across different colleges, courses, branches, semesters, and subjects.

Another challenge was creating a reliable upload and verification system so that incorrect or irrelevant papers do not become part of the repository.

We also had to think about scalability because the platform should be able to grow from a few colleges to many colleges and thousands of question papers.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of turning a common student problem into a practical solution.

Our platform brings scattered question papers into one organized system and makes them easier to discover.

We are also designing the project with future AI-based analysis in mind, so the platform can eventually do more than simply store PDFs and can help students identify repeated questions and important topics.

What we learned

While building this project, we learned how to convert a real-world problem into a structured software solution.

We learned about database design, authentication, file storage, user-generated content, filtering and search, and building a scalable web application.

We also learned that a good project is not only about adding features, but about making the core user experience simple and useful.

What's next for Untitled

Our next goal is to expand the question-paper repository to more colleges and courses.

We plan to add:

  • AI-based question and topic analysis
  • Frequently repeated question detection
  • Important-topic identification
  • Online practice mode
  • Mock tests
  • Personalized preparation dashboard
  • Teacher/faculty verification
  • Better search and filtering

Our long-term vision is to create a collaborative academic resource platform where students and teachers can contribute knowledge and make exam preparation easier for future students.
