Inspiration

With lead poisoning becoming a big issue globally and locally, we present Flui, a solution to detection and preventing this problem

What it does

Detects presence and concentration of lead in fluids (including biological fluids).

How we built it

Flui is an interdisciplinary paper-based sensing device that can be used for the detection of heavy metals. By utilizing the technique known as microfluidics, Flui will navigate the analytes through a system of complex channels that are treated with a reagent. The reagent changes color when in contact with lead or other heavy metals, and the change in color will be analyzed with the mobile application featuring an image processing algorithm.

Challenges we ran into

Data analyzing

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Testing the paper microfluidics, creating a low cost solution for testing lead concentration levels in fluds

What we learned
