Inspiration
Our ideal work session is when there are no distractions and working becomes straightforward. Through this ideal we decided to create the dream app that is one and done that doesn't cause distraction and helps you reach your goals. We were inspired by other productivity apps such as Notion but we wanted to make them more minimalistic, straightforward, and simple.
What it does
Paperoom allows the user to easily set goals that can be checked off at anytime.
How we built it
We used a combination of JavaScript and React Native, and after a lot of trial and error we came up with the current design.
Challenges we ran into
There were a lot of bugs especially because we have not used JavaScript for a long period of time, on top of this React Native was something entirely new for everyone on the team. Ultimately trying to learn enough skills to bring to fruition our idea was the hardest part.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Fixing the major bugs took a lot of time but was extremely rewarding and was what we were most proud of.
What we learned
We learned a lot of debugging skills and how to effectively navigate API in order to figure out what we needed to do.
What's next for Paperoom
We hope to expand Paperoom so that its capable of more than just planning, in the future we want to implement a reward system and perhaps some game like features.
