How I got the idea
I have been following Bitcoin around for the past two years, and security is the main concern. Luckily, people have created the perfect solution where users can generate a Bitcoin wallet and print it on a piece of paper without leaving a digital trace. After all, you cant hack a piece of paper. I got my idea from the principle that you cant hack a piece of paper.
What does my application do?
My ruby gem generates a pdf, with a list of secure two factor authentication codes generated using a keypair. The user can print out that pdf and start using it as two factor auth codes. My ruby gem also has a method which allows the site to easily verify the two factor authentication code.
How do users user it?
Its simple. They sign up at a website using paper authentication, and print out the pdf generated for them. Then, they fold along the dotted lines, and trim of any excess paper. When they want to find a code, all they have to do is hold it up to the light, and they will be able to see the full code which they can type into their computer.
Target users
The target users for this application would be security and privacy fanatics.
What am I most proud of?
I am really happy with how the pdf generation turned out. I was able to perfectly align everything so when you fold it, the codes are easily readable.
How secure is it?
Everything is 100% secure as long as the keypair is secure...
