Inspiration

A background agent for a neighborhood food-bank coordinator. It watches staple inventory and volunteer shifts, and pages a human only when (1) a staple is about to stock out (quantity at or below reorder point), or (2) a volunteer shift in the next 24 hours is uncovered. It is not a chatbot. Most cycles are quiet on purpose. The only UI is a status board that shows the last decision (quiet vs alert) and why.

How we built it

Built with the official Strands Agents SDK (non-trivial: real Agent, four @tool functions, FileSessionManager so the same shortage does not re-page). Local PolicyModel so it runs with no API keys, no AWS, no Bedrock, no AgentCore. Good Neighbor track. MIT.
