Inspiration
PantryPilot is a household kitchen operations agent for the Alexa+ MCP track. It is a greenfield project created during the hackathon window on 2026-09-10.
What it does
PantryPilot manages pantry inventory and household preferences, generates meal plans, identifies shopping gaps, supports product discovery, drafts a safe cart without placing a real order, runs kitchen_run, and recalls household/session state.
How we built it
The MCP server is written in TypeScript using @modelcontextprotocol/sdk@^1.30.0, with MCP protocol version 2025-11-25 over the Streamable HTTP protocol (McpServer and StreamableHTTPServerTransport) behind Express. It uses sql.js for SQLite-compatible persistence and Docker for packaging. meal_plan has an optional Amazon Bedrock Converse path when AWS_REGION and BEDROCK_MODEL_ID are set; otherwise, or if Converse/JSON parsing fails, it uses a deterministic stub. No live Bedrock demo is claimed.
The new MIT public repository, created 2026-09-10 during the hackathon window, includes the MCP server, companion, evals, Docker setup, and the Bedrock-optional meal_plan path: GitHub repository
