Inspiration
UK food prices have risen by a third in the past 5 years. Food waste is becoming a prevalent issue, hugely contributing to 10% of global warming. We wanted to create an application to share items in the kitchen, allowing users to input their purchases, share food with flatmates and see insights into their grocery spending habits.
What it does
Users can upload or take an image of their receipt. You can reserve items, leaving the rest for flatmates. Our spending tab allows you to view how much you spend and waste by food category as well as set weekly/monthly budgets.
How we built it
We used the Expo framework to create the cross platform application with React Native and Typescript, Firebase for storing pantry item data.
