Inspiration

Traditional prediction market often has two main problems. The first one is about global access. Other prediction markets often face geographical and jurisdictional restrictions, limiting access for participants based on their location and fragmenting the user base. The second one is trust & transparency. Traditional prediction markets often rely on centralized entities, raising concerns about fairness, manipulation, and censorship. Rather than that, our team has been in the market since the last cycle and we also have great connections within Sui ecosystem. That's the reason why we decided to build Pandora Finance which is the pioneering decentralized prediction market on Sui Network.

What it does

In Pandora Finance, we offer two exciting games. The first is Up & Down, where users can predict whether a token's price will rise or fall within a specific time frame. With our merge pool update lately, users can choose to play Up & Down with our whitelisted tokens of top projects in Sui ecosystem. The second game is The Lottery, where participants can purchase tickets and wait for daily prize draws at 08:00 UTC. If the digits on your tickets match the winning numbers in the correct order, you win a portion of the prize pool. Users can simply buy the tickets, wait for the draw, and check the results every day.

How we built it

We have been building Pandora Finance since December 2023 and received support from Sui Foundation through competitions and hackathons to grow the project. Based on that, we have connected and partnered with top projects and KOLs on Sui. That's also the reason why I believe we are one of the top consumer apps on Sui at the moment.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenge when building Pandora Finance is our funding at the scale duration of the project. The funding problem is a huge problem for us when trying to scale our users. So, we are focusing more on developing our next feature to build a better foundation and when we have more funding, we will put more effort into marketing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

There are three main accomplishments that we're proud of:

• Successfully mint out Pandorian which is our NFT collection
• Granted by Sui Foundation
• First prize in Consumer and Mobile track of Sui Overflow Global Hackathon

What we learned

The main lesson we have learned is that building takes time to prove and you have to wait until the result comes. Anything which is fast will not last long in this industry. After recognizing that, we target more on the long-term goal and keep building products every day. We do not rush and we focus on the mission that we have listed out from the beginning.

What's next for Pandora Finance

Currently, we are developing our next feature which is the future events prediction. In which, users can create a bet pool while others can come and bet on the results. The category will be diverse from Politics, Crypto, Sports, and so on. We believe this will make a huge change for Pandora Finance and attract a great amount of users from not only Sui but also other ecosystems.
