Coronavirus has affected all of our lives and it is our duty to help limit the spread and to help our community. Our quiz tells people how well they are doing to contain the virus based on their current habits.

What it does

It presents 4 multiple choice questions, which the user answers with a number from 1-6. Based on their responses, the PFI (Pandemic Footprint Index) of the user is calculated. Then, based on their score, recommendations for what to do next are printed.

How we built it

As beginners, we built it using java by scanning in the user's choice and making calculations based off their inputs.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into were in the calculation of the Pandemic Footprint Index. We had to find a way to find the score based off of the 4 multiple choice questions, which we initially had trouble calculating.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that we were able to provide a comfortable user experience on a first-time desktop application to help the common folk deal with the pitfalls of the pandemic.

What we learned

We learned how to upload a java file into a desktop application so it can be used by others rather than simply within the local IDE. We also learned how to use github so we can share our code and others can learn off of it as well as provide suggestions to our code. Overall, it was a great experience!

What's next for PandemicFootprint

We hope to turn the program into a website that anyone can visit to calculate their own pandemic footprint at any time. This would make it much more accessible to everyone!
