Panchtantra is built primarily for young children, to help them learn about the world, about themselves, and about their own cultures through interactive illustrated stories. On the creation side, it is built for parents, teachers, and community members who want to put something meaningful in front of a child but don't have the technical skill, design resources, or time to produce polished content on their own — our pipeline collapses what used to take a studio into a few guided steps. The most serious thing that could go wrong is misuse of the creator platform. We are building Panchtantra with the intent of passing good values to children, but any open creation tool that produces child-facing content can be hijacked by bad actors trying to push age-inappropriate, hateful, manipulative, or otherwise harmful material under the cover of "stories for kids." Once the platform reaches meaningful scale, the volume of generated content will be far beyond what any human moderation team could realistically review. That means our safety layer has to be AI-driven from day one — content classifiers on text, on illustrations, and on the branching choices themselves, applied at generation time and again before anything is published to the reader marketplace, with human review reserved for edge cases and appeals.

  • [ ] Beyond malicious misuse, there are a few more risks worth naming honestly: AI-generated stories can quietly encode bias or factual errors, especially in curriculum or cultural material where being wrong actually matters humans being the primary creators of content can reduce the risk but cant eliminate it ; the locked-device model puts us in a position of real trust with parents, so any bug in the lock or any data-handling mistake involving children's information would be a serious severance of that trust; and there is a softer risk that a tool meant to deepen the parent-child bond ends up being used as a substitute for it. Our job is to design the product, the moderation stack, and the parent-facing controls
