Inspiration
The inspiration came when my mom used to tell me to check all the food in the fridge. After shopping for the next week, we would already forget what we have in the back of the fridge, not until it starts causing problems like smelling, or we just find out when it expires. So, when the hackathon was announced, I had the idea to create an app that helps people avoid wasting food, money, and their time.
What it does
Pancake stacks your daily recipes to align with your health and your desired goals and what's in the fridge to create the best meal plan for costumed time. After you fill out the shortest form about yourself, we want to take a picture or upload your receipt and wait for the pancake to cook. You can also view your receipts in calendar mode and see how much of everything you intake.
How we built it
This project is build with Qloo AI, Javascript, Python.
Challenges we ran into
The challenges we ran into were that to get the Bolt not to mix between meals per day. At first, the Bolt only showed the default 3 meals per day, even though the options were different, and then we learned how to express our needs in the right words for the Bolt to understand. Next was getting the dessert button. We wondered is we should include the sweets as the default 3 meals or not, but then we decided to make a separate button for this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm very proud that I have included the free API to get more variations in generating recipes.
What we learned
We learned that with the right AI, you can make apps in minutes and experiment with all those small ideas into big apps or the next startups.
What's next for Pancake
For Pancake, we are going to be making the read-out-loud instructions so it will be easier for people to know the overview of the food and get clear instructions. We also wanted to include more detailed health conditions to help everyone.
