Inspiration

Food waste is a significant global issue, impacting both the environment and our wallets. Pamurger was inspired by the desire to make a difference by reducing food waste through smarter inventory management and recipe recommendations. Our goal is to help users make the most of the ingredients they already have and prevent unnecessary purchases.

What it does

Pamurger is a mobile application designed to streamline your grocery shopping and meal planning. It checks your fridge inventory, suggests recipes based on what you already have, and provides recommendations on what to buy and when to buy it. By managing your inventory more effectively, Pamurger helps you avoid purchasing unnecessary items and ultimately reduces food waste.

How we built it

Pamurger was developed using a combination of technologies. The backend is powered by Python and FastAPI, ensuring efficient and scalable data processing. The frontend was built with Flutter, allowing us to create a responsive and user-friendly mobile application. This tech stack enabled us to deliver a seamless experience for users across different devices.

Challenges we ran into

During development, we faced several challenges including integrating various data sources for inventory management, handling recipe recommendations accurately, and ensuring real-time updates. Balancing user interface design with functionality also required careful consideration to maintain a smooth user experience.
