Inspiration

My grandpa was infected with cancer, and the signs did not appear until the fourth stage. It was a difficult moment for us since we didn't even know how frequently chemotherapy had to be administered. What a cancer patient and his or her family need is knowledge, the capacity to connect with the appropriate doctor, and the opportunity to speak with other patients who have previously dealt with the same condition. Not only that, but cancer therapy is very expensive.

What it does

It finds doctors, donors and patients who have survived cancer and connects with them

How we built it

The frontend is built using React js and the backend using the Django Rest Framework. Simple-JWT is used for token authentication. MapBox API is used for maps and places-autocomplete. The latitude and longitude are stored in the database and the doctor's location is shown based on that latitude and longitude.

Challenges we ran into

There were no big challenges because the project is not very complicated. However, setting up the Map took some time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I did it in my memory of my grandfather which can solve the problems of many Yayy!

What we learned

I was already familiar with both React and Django. However, I had never worked previously under a strict deadline. Hence, that's what I learned (if that counts).

What's next for Palliative Care

The first step will be to make the project live. After that, I will try to add some more features and then convert it to a PWA so that it could be installed on a mobile device.
