The mortality rates of oral cancer in Karachi are among the highest in the world. Early detection and intervention of oral cancer increases the five-year survival rate by up to 60%. We wanted to find a way to provide screening services to the areas of Karachi that have the least access to such facilities. To do so, we came up with the idea of a mobile vehicle that brings screening services to under-developed areas in Karachi. Along with the screening services, we plan to improve upon the current electronic health record system to gather epidemiological data and generate a database of oral cancer prevalence and incidence rates in Pakistan.
