Inspiration
46% of Americans believe meeting someone through online dating is not safe. When browsing on dating apps, you just don't trust the people on there and want to learn more about them first. You've tried LinkedIn stalking, but that's just not enough...
What it does
Pairfect is a dating app that provides compatibility info by using common traits, information and user reviews from previous partners. Imagine UW Flow, Rate My Professors, or LinkedIn work history stalking, but instead, it's for dating. Additionally, a compatibility score is calculated and displayed between all users based on previous relationship preferences, data and other information.
How we built it
Pairfect is a Typescript Next.js web app that uses Tailwind CSS for styling and Supabase as a backend. We use Supabase's authentication API. We also created an interactable Figma prototype, with an intentionally chosen colour palette, font style, and other design choices.
Challenges we ran into
We found it challenging to develop the app in 24h and could not finish all features, but we feel proud about overcoming a steep learning curve and the progress made. We also wanted to ensure that any privacy issues that come with this app are properly addressed in our pitch.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the long hours put into coding the app, learning Next.js and Tailwind, brainstorming cohesive and satisfying design choices for the app, and working together as a team!
What we learned
We sharpened our Figma prototyping skills. We also learned Next.js, Supabase, and Tailwind CSS.
What's next for Pairfect Match
Firstly, we want to improve compatibility scoring as users come in, and after analyzing accuracy/user satisfaction. We also want to add the ability to connect your Spotify/music listening, Strava info, and other external apps for unique user information.
