Inspiration
In Visayan, 'padayon' translates to 'keep going' or 'persevere.'
We persevere because we understand what we feel.
We're humans, not robots. We experience a range of emotions—fatigue, sadness, happiness, and fear. However, there are instances when we struggle to comprehend our current emotional state. In those moments of confusion, we might feel frustrated, in denial, or simply dismissive. This response is not ideal. It's crucial to recognize and navigate our emotions for the sake of mental well-being. Failing to do so allows unprocessed emotions to accumulate and resurface later on.
This is why I built, Padayon, a mental health support app created through PartyRock, an Amazon Bedrock Playground.
What it does
Padayon, a mental health support application, allows users to:
- Enter their name and age.
- Input their Personality Type and Traits derived from their own results on 16personalities.com.
- Document their day.
- Identify and understand their emotions.
- Manage and process their emotions.
- Receive action items tailored to their emotional state.
- Explore inspiring quotes from books, movies, notable personalities, etc.
- Engage in conversations with a care bot.
- Discover their animal representation based on personality type and traits.
How I built it
I constructed it using PartyRock, an Amazon Bedrock Playground.
PartyRock offers a platform for crafting AI-generated applications within a playground powered by Amazon Bedrock. It presents a quick and enjoyable approach to delve into the realm of generative AI.
In developing the application, I utilized PartyRock's array of AI-powered widgets, including Text Generation, Image Generation, and Chatbot. Furthermore, to prompt these widgets to generate content, user input was integrated into the app.
Challenges I ran into
PartyRock offers AI-powered widgets and a user input feature, enabling me to express my creativity while building the app I envision. Designing an app to be a force for good poses challenges. Overcoming these challenges, optimizing the widgets, and ensuring a smooth user experience required me to think creatively.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud to have created an AI app that, at the minimum, assists individuals in understanding their emotions based on the information they've shared.
What I learned
I learned that generative AI is powerful and can benefit numerous individuals in different domains. Employing the appropriate tools, methodologies, and platforms opens the door to developing remarkable applications that serve as a force for good.
