Inspiration

Massive goals—whether it’s launching a dream venture, getting into peak fitness, or planning an international solo trip—often fail because they feel too overwhelming to begin. We built PacksLight to eliminate goal paralysis by breaking life-defining bucket-list dreams down into achievable daily micro-actions, accompanied by habit streaks and celebratory community recognition.

What it does

• AI Dream Deconstruction Engine: Input any aspiration (e.g., "Solo expedition to Japan" or "Run my first half-marathon"), and our AI generates a targeted, step-by-step action plan with deadlines.
• Daily Micro-Action Challenge: Replaces decision fatigue by presenting one achievable task per day.
• Habit Streaks & Wins Journal: Log daily accomplishments with celebratory confetti triggers, streak fire counters, and weekly activity charts.
• Curated Community Challenges: Join multi-day group challenges across travel, career, and personal wellness.
• RevenueCat Monetization Engine: Pro ($25/mo) and Premium ($35/mo) plans unlock unlimited challenges and deep AI dream roadmaps, backed by on-demand Action Credit packs ($15 for 10 credits, $40 for 25 credits).

How we built it

• Client App: Flutter & Dart featuring custom gradient palettes, confetti animations, and fl_chart weekly activity bars.
• Monetization: Integrated purchases_flutter (RevenueCat) managing subscription status and credit deductions.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Scalable REST backend running on Microsoft Azure App Services (packslight-eefpgge5hdh9befs.eastus-01.azurewebsites.net).
• AI Logic: Automated milestone generation breaking long-term objectives into bite-sized daily tasks.

Challenges we ran into

Preventing user churn when a streak is broken. Instead of punishing users with harsh resets, we introduced the Wins Journal—a permanent log where users celebrate non-streak milestones, reinforcing identity-based momentum over perfectionism.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• High-energy, fluid user interface with joyful visual feedback (confetti blasts, dynamic progress indicators).
• Reliable, instant RevenueCat entitlement syncing that unlocks AI roadmaps without app restarts.
• Clean task-tracking architecture that keeps users focused on today's single action item.

What we learned

Consistency is sustained when tasks are reduced to their absolute simplest execution step (e.g., "Spend 2 minutes researching passport renewal" instead of "Plan entire international itinerary").

What's next for PacksLight

• Accountability buddy matching for shared dream tracking.
• Offline mode with queued local sync for remote travelers.
