Inspiration

Arriving in the United States was a great experience for me, baring one small thing. My online deliveries from amazon were getting stolen from my appartment building. I wanted to have something/ someone to keep my packages safe until I am available to recieve them. Thats when I decided to build something which would solve this problem. Hence, Package-keeper

What it does

Keeps package thieves away. Eliminate retail delivery anxiety. Remote and secure control over lock box Sms/email notification of new activity.

How we built it

Rigour and Passion. We first brainstormed the idea about the design and its functionalities. Then we proceded to decided the sensors and actutorsto use in the design. After that, we designed the PCB in Altium software for the project, parallely we worked on sensor integration with the microcontroller and also configured the WINC1500 chip for WiFi Communication. We also designed the Node Red Dashboard interface for handling MQTT communication requests.

Challenges we ran into

Camera was a real tough nut to crack! Also the bootloader design was a good challenge. Learned how to work with external memories and connect to the wifi

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Finnally designed a PCB! Yay! Also got it working!

What we learned

We learned how to prototype a PCB and how to Interface different sensors (SERVO, Arducam Camera, Microphone) with SAMW25 Xplained Pro Development board. Also learned how to design a power management circuit for the peripheral design

What's next for Package-keeper

Integrate a display for better user friendliness Add speaker to communicate with delivery man (just in case…) Make a more aesthetically pleasing and rigid mechanical design
