Inspiration
We noticed that during the hackathons we have been to that there are often organisers going around taking photos, but they never seem to get too many photos. We wanted to design a system to help get more photos from the event
What it does
Our webapp allows users to create and join groups, create tasks and upload pictures based on these tasks, view pictures that have been taken and determine winners based on AI points. This webapp can also be downloaded onto phones to be used there
How we built it
With pain (as well as Typescript, Auth0, Redis, NextJS, Tailwind, TRPC, FastAPI and VertexAI)
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a few challenges, though the biggest one was the fact that our project was very ambitious, and barely within our capabilities for the time we had. This also caused some tension between the group at 1am as by that point we had been coding for quite a while, and did not feel like we were as far through as we should have been. After a night's sleep however the group has managed to progress much further, and may even be able to finish the project by the deadline
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is the first time we have made a Progressive Web App, and we seem to have managed to make it work first time. Setting up Redis and Pusher
What we learned
Have a more reasonable expectation of our capabilities, and don't try to use as many new pieces of software at once as we have
What's next for PA4BF
Not sure, probably finish off features that had to be cut for time
