Inspiration
One of the major problems with the medical field is the cost of healthcare, and how much you need to travel and pay just for a diagnosis. Additionally, almost 45,000 people die each year, from wrong diagnosises or from not going to the doctor on time.
What it does
P.H.D. a.k.a. Personal Health doctor, gives patients or anybody a way to diagnose what illness they have, and based on this this, they can go to the doctor on the varying intensity of their illness. Studies show that people are way more likely to go to the doctor or a medical professional if they know that they have an ailment, and they can also be treated better if they know what illness they're most likely to have.
How I built it
I built P.H.D. by utilizing the keras machine learning model, and got a dataset with many diseases and their symptoms. I trained a machine learning model using this and used python for the backend. I used HTML and CSS for the main fronted fo the website. Utilizing the Flask framework which can be used to connect backend and frontend, I created the P.H.D. I am proud of today
Challenges I ran into
Some of of the Challeneges I've overcome are when I had to add some new diseases into the dataset. With the unfortunate upcoming of the Covid-19 and Monkeypox virus, to make it more useful for households than ever
What's next for P.H.D.
I belive that P.H.D. can be a very useful asset in every household that has internet. That's why I plan to publish P.H.D. on the web. It isn't ready for that kind of release yet. But that is what am aiming for.
