Inspiration
How can we inspire and promote sustainable choices in the communities around us?
What it does
It connects communities/individuals/governments with environmental impact on their purchases.
How I built it
• We used TD Davinci database to access customer purchases. • Added simulated itemized information for the purchase. • Our data base links the items in the purchase with simulated green attributes. • We aggregated the green attributes for all the purchases and generated a green heat map for a store in the community.
Challenges I ran into
• How to get the itemized data from purchases made by individuals. • How to attach these itemized entries to purchases without adding third party costs. • How to identify broader applications for the idea.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
• Avoiding the itemized data to go through third party, we have to think of ways connecting the POS with consumer directly. • Avoiding privacy concerns for consumers.
What I learned
How to think of the business aspects of a problem, identifying the customers for the product. Lateral thinking and connecting adjacencies.
What's next for Ozone
Talk to city and pitch in this idea to government bodies, develop an App to connect individuals to know their green score for the purchases they make at a grocery store.
