Inspiration

A few years ago, I sent a friend a google drive link to an important document but he was unable to view it because of a squabble between his phone manufacturers and the US government. This made me upset because I could not reconcile why innocent people should bear the brunt of issues that do not concern them. I started learning about distributed systems and blockchain technology after that incident, in order to solve that problem.

What it does

OxSpence is a decentralized application that enable users collaborate, store and share all kind of files

How we built it

The dapp was built with React.js and Solidity for the smart-contract

Challenges we ran into

The File-sharing feature was a bit tricky has we had to incorporate sharing with different kind of addresses

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made our research and could not find any similar product in the web3 space, this fills us with pride and also being able to tackle the issue of censorship and illegal sale of user's data to third parties.

What we learned

We have learnt that the idea is actually feasible and would do a lot of good to the public

What's next for OxSpence

We intend to add more features to make it the one-stop place for every activity concerning storing files, sharing files and creation of files. we also intend to release it for public use
