Inspiration

I was inspired by AWS to build something new that saves lives.

What it does

1 OVERDOSE PREVENTION: Prevents Overdoses and tells you about conflicting drugs with the same active ingredients you already have so that you don't consume 2 drugs with different names that have the same ingredient for example Acetaminophen which is present in Panadol , Codalgin pro cold and the likes, Furthermore It also acts as a Safety Mechanism, Reference & Training wheel for New Doctors,Nurses,Pharmacists and Patients

2 SAFETY FOCUSED: Provides Realtime Centralized Updates on Drug Recalls

3 EDUCATIONAL: Provides drug composition ,Usage,Benefits ,Side effects ,drug ingredients and other useful metrics

4 MULTILINGUAL: Available to Translate Medical information to some extent in 133 popular languages making it easier for you to view in your language eg 中文 , हिन्दी भाषा ,اللغة العربية,langue française

How we built it

Through research and AWS tutorials interfacing with several open API's

Challenges we ran into

Time management and a few bugs in the code

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Proud of creating a actual product that I will use , It's amazing how much you can learn about drugs and health just by passively looking at the data.

What we learned

It was surprising that thousands of people die from panadol overdoses and that every drug has potential side effects that we are oblivious to and unaware off.

What's next for AWS MEDA SSR Overdose Protection

We plan to fine tune and build the system to have features based on customer demand if we get funded hopefully .
