Inspiration

I built OvaCircle from my own experience with PCOS. I was diagnosed at 16, and for years I struggled to find clear, trustworthy information. When I turned to TikTok and social media, I often found conflicting information and frightening claims instead of clarity. I wanted to create the kind of space I wish I had found then.

What it does

OvaCircle is a PCOS/PMOS companion that brings symptom tracking, trusted health information, AI guidance, and community support into one place. Users can track periods and symptoms, explore trusted guides, ask Ova Assist questions, and connect with people who understand their experience.

How we built it

I built OvaCircle entirely on my own as a hackathon project. I designed the user experience, built the interface and core features, created the demo data, and integrated Ova Assist for AI-powered guidance. The prototype was built with Next.js, client-side storage, and seeded data.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was bringing tracking, education, AI, and community into one simple experience without overwhelming users. I also had to think carefully about privacy and how to make AI helpful while clearly communicating that it is not a replacement for a healthcare professional.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud that I turned a personal experience into a working prototype completely on my own. OvaCircle connects the different parts of the PCOS journey instead of making users search across multiple apps and platforms for support.

What we learned

I learned that building a health-focused product requires more than just useful features. It needs to feel safe, supportive, and trustworthy. I also learned how AI can provide personalized support while still respecting important boundaries.

What's next for OvaCircle

I would like to expand OvaCircle with a more robust backend, stronger personalization, additional trusted health resources, and improved AI capabilities. The long-term goal is to make OvaCircle a reliable space where people with PCOS/PMOS can track, learn, and connect without feeling alone.
