Inspiration

Fashion is a form of self-expression that has the power to uplift and empower individuals. It is not just about wearing the latest trends, but about finding a style that represents who you are and makes you feel confident. The Outfit Fashion Testing project was born from the desire to help others discover their personal fashion style and to provide inspiration for creating outfits that are not only fashionable but also practical.

I have always been fascinated by the world of fashion and the way that clothing can affect our mood and confidence. As someone who loves to experiment with different styles and looks, I have often found it challenging to find the perfect outfit for different occasions. Through my own experiences, I have learned that finding the right clothing items can make a significant impact on how we feel and present ourselves to the world. This realization inspired me to create a platform where others could also find inspiration and guidance when it comes to their fashion choices.

What it does

The Outfit Fashion Testing Lens is designed to be user-friendly and accessible, allowing people of all ages and skill levels to participate. Whether users are looking for a new work outfit, trying to find the perfect dress for a special occasion, or simply want to experiment with different fashion styles, the lens provides the tools and resources needed to help them achieve their goals.

How I built it

I used the Garment Transfer Component API for the project. The API helped me utilize an image of an upper body garment that is transferred in real-time. The images used in this project were downloaded from the internet. After downloading the images the I uploaded them in the project as remote asset to enable compression of the resource and avoid errors. The images are then added to garment carousel. The carousel help the user to switch to different outfits.

Challenges I ran into

One of the challenge I ran into during this project was, how to perfom object tracking and also using snap ML. I needed to add these functionalities of snap ML like object detenction in my project but it was challenging. Luckily, I found valuable tutorials on snapchat AR Youtube channel which help me in developing this lens.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Some of the accomplishment, I am proud of is being able to render object in snap Lens 3D scene, change the texture and materials of a body mesh.

What I learned

I have learned how to create different snap Lens for einstance, location based lens, fashion lens and many more. Before , I did this project I tried creating different lens and I have really learned a lot.

What's next for Outfits Test

Have never used snapchat before till I saw this hackthon challenge and started creating lens and testing them. These lens are really fun to use and they make people more happy and I also think lens like shopping lens designed in a more creative way can help in social media marketing. Am look way foward to creating more lens to help people have fun on social media and market their goods using these lens.
