Inspiration
I was inspired to make this because I like the synthwave aesthetic, and wanted to incorporate into an Outbreak theme. So I thought that a computer virus fit in with the synthwave aesthetic nicely, so I decided to make it.
What it does
Using WASD, you drive around your car and try to avoid getting hit. Once you get hit enough times, you die, and restart. You also use a steering wheel in real life to steer, which I got working using computer vision detection with the opencv library.
How I built it
I used Unity to create it.
Challenges I ran into
Time management was definitely an issue. This is my first game jam, so it was slightly difficult to stay on track with time.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm very happy that I was able to produce a game that I had fun playing, even if other might not. It feels good to know that I can make something I enjoy.
What I learned
I learned how to use Unity to create a game, and also how to use computer vision detection to play a Unity game.
What's next for Outbreak
I hope to fix some bugs that I didn't have time to fix, and also add more gameplay mechanics.
My project file size was too big to upload to github, so I zipped it and uploaded it to google drive instead. All you need to do is uncompress it to see the project files.
