Out the Groupchat

Inspiration

I hate planning. I think that's the biggest hurdle for why you don't see your friends as much as you should, become someone has to plan it. We wanted to create something that solved that for you, and going somewhere, experiencing life anywhere and everywhere was as easy as ordering something off Amazon.

What it does

Using Gemini 3, it searches flights, accommodations, and activities and let's you create a one time payment link to get your plans out the group chat.

How we built it

There is three core components that use Gemini, image extraction for passport and ID, web search for flights and accommodations, and image creation using the users profile pictures and the location they choose.

Challenges we ran into

Biggest challenge is how much customizability and preferences do you allow the model to have. It's really a challenge for travel planners, what does it really take to make the best trip? As in what are the best things to do in a city, what is the best hotel, airbnb, flight, etc. Ultimately the more you guide and mush your version of the ideal onto the model, for another user they might actually dislike what you recommend. So it's a constant struggle.

What's next for Out the Groupchat

I think a cool feature for bigger group chats would be like you can choose a trip for 5 people and send it in a group chat of 25 and whoever enters their info, those 5 can go on the trip. So it kind of becomes like a "whoever can do it first" kind of thing.
