Our Album

For this Designation we were tasked to reimagine something that is used in the physical world that is slowly being lost in the digital world.

Initially we began with brainstorming ideas like: Gardening and Drawing. Then we had the idea of taking a picture. Although that seemed very broad and there are millions of things to apply it to, one thing that has slowly been gone is the use of photo albums for private memory keepsake purposes. Therefore, we came up with “Our Album”. The thing that resonated with us the most was how we capture the little moments in our life. Prior to having a phone, we were quick to draw or capture through a camera how life was like. For example, Gui grew up being an artist and I grew up loving snapshots of fashion and how fashion design takes place.

Something that blows our minds is that we are the last generation that had curated album pictures that our parents took as a baby from carefully chosen pictures.

That is why we chose to design “Our Album”. The same physical album except now on your phone. We want to make it the same as in real life, where not all the photos you take you will want in your album. We aimed to make it look sleek and modernized while keeping the same physical representation of the core feature: Capturing the moments.
