Otter Chomp is a video game that uses the character OPIE the Otter, public health mascot, to teach chidren to eat healty foods. A truckload of food has spilled into the river and OPIE swims in the water trying to navigate his way through a stream of food options, some healthier than others. The more OPIE eats and chooses healthy foods, the faster he swims but if he eats too much of either good or bad choices, he slows down. The goal is to learn to eat proper portion sizes and balance choices to become healthier. The game also models physical activity as OPIE is swimming throughout the game.
