Inspiration

The inspiration for Otori stemmed from the complexity and volatility that currently plague the cryptocurrency market. As experienced traders and investors, we saw firsthand how these challenges deterred mainstream adoption and made it difficult for average investors to confidently enter the crypto space. We wanted to create a platform that not only simplifies the process but also provides tailored investment strategies that align with individual risk preferences.

What it does

Otori is a decentralized investing platform designed to make crypto accessible and manageable for everyone. It offers pre-designed investment strategies based on users' risk and reward profiles, eliminating the need for complex decision-making. With Otori, users can invest in crypto without worrying about the technicalities of swaps, bridges, or managing multiple platforms. The platform provides real-time portfolio tracking, risk management, and secure on-chain execution.

How we built it

We built Otori by leveraging a combination of blockchain technology and user-centered design principles. The platform integrates decentralized exchanges (DEX) and centralized finance (CeFi) platforms to aggregate liquidity and provide the best prices. We also developed a calculation engine to continuously update user positions and PnL in real-time. The platform is supported by secure, decentralized operations, ensuring transparency and data integrity. Our MVP was initially built on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and is currently being transitioned to the Solana protocol, thanks to a grant from Solana.

Challenges We Ran Into

One of the main challenges we faced was designing the right structures for our low, medium, and high-risk strategies. Once these strategies were in place, the next hurdle was securing market makers who could not only provide quotes (RFQs) but also deliver constant streaming prices on the derivatives involved. This was crucial for providing users with real-time pricing, ensuring the accuracy and transparency of our platform, and enabling Otori's calculation engine to continuously update users' PnL.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have secured significant pre-seed funding, including a $1M grant from Solana, which has allowed us to accelerate development and refine our platform. Launching our MVP with successful user feedback and seeing early adoption are also key milestones.

What we learned

Throughout the development of Otori, we learned the importance of balancing technical innovation with user experience. We discovered that while advanced features are critical, simplicity and accessibility are just as important for widespread adoption.

What's next for Otori

Looking ahead, we plan to expand Otori's features by introducing additional structured products, such as tokenized real-world assets. We are also focused on integrating more chains to enhance our platform's flexibility and reach. Our goal is to continue refining the user experience, ensuring that Otori remains at the forefront of DeFi innovation, providing secure, tailored, and accessible crypto investment solutions to a global audience.
