ORION — Intelligent Orchestration Agent

Inspiration

Students often struggle to decide what to study when assignments, deadlines, and limited time compete for attention. I built ORION to bring study planning, task management, and scheduling together in one place.

What it does

ORION helps users turn available time and pending tasks into practical study plans. It provides task management with deadlines and priorities, schedule-aware planning, daily briefings, and a web interface with voice interaction.

How I built it

I built ORION using Python and FastAPI for the backend, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for the frontend, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to expose reusable capabilities through a self-hosted server using Streamable HTTP.

Challenges

One of the main challenges was connecting the frontend to the backend and making task and schedule information work together. I also worked on exposing the application's capabilities through MCP so compatible clients can discover and use its tools.

What I learned

This project helped me understand backend API development, frontend-backend integration, task-oriented planning, and how MCP can make application capabilities accessible to compatible AI clients.

What's next

I plan to improve planning intelligence, strengthen security, and expand integrations with compatible AI assistants.
