Inspiration

I was thinking about what is something that was nostalgic - well pokemon of course. Everyone my age was into pokemon. It was a pillar in our childhood memories. But, what do we do now? well some of us run, some of us play pickleball, and some of us (many) drink beer. What if we had a pokedex of beer that I could complete faster than my friends, share on socials or text rare finds, wouldn't that be kind of cool?

What it does

You go to a brewery or buy a bottle at sprouts, total wine and more, or get a draft at the bar. Take a picture of the bottle, draft handle or menu item or scan the barcode and that beer has been found and is unlocked. you can think of brewery's as gyms and you can complete them to get your badge. you can also travel to other regions and complete those regions. regardless of region though everyone has to unlock the original 181 beers.

How we built it

Vibe coded most of it.

Challenges we ran into

There is a problem with any app that encourages any type of substance use. that being said we also have an issue with someone just looking up pictures or going into stores and just scanning everything thats why we solved for location being geofenced etc.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are pretty close to version 1 release

What we learned

that this go to market has the most opportunity for success by using in person partnerships at SD based breweries etc.
