Inspiration
Thousands die of failed organ transplants every year, leaving behind their families. This website is designed to prevent their death and keep them healthier than ever so they can be there for themselves and the ones they love most
What it does
It allows organ donors and recipients to register themselves in the database so they can be potentially matched for a successful transplant. Not only that, doctors' accounts can have access to the AI-powered matching engine so they can determine if they can do the transplant or not.
How we built it
We used streamlit for the website, distance calculators, and GPS libraries such as geopy, urlib to fetch information from hospitals, and csv+json to store patient info
Challenges we ran into
We ran into several issues with the Gemini API key and module configuration. Not only that, we had trouble verifying whether hospitals did transplants or not. Additionally, we had trouble programming the patient information form.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We endured hours of trial-and-error programming, but we managed to get the application working with a proper database backend
What we learned
We learned how to use libraries such as streamlit, urlib, and geopy to build and advance our website.
