Inspiration
The card game/roguelike aspect and how cards work besides the order they are played in is largely inspired by games like 'slay the spire', while the countdown and card mods is used in a larger variety of games (Ex: FrostWilds)
The order, and rows: are largely not so inspired and very original. I believe, personally, it came to me when playing a game and thinking about the challenge of card games: they often boil down to either which cards you play or when they are played. Something struck me here, I think, and that's how I came up with the strange system that this game champions as it's main mechanic.
What it does
It's a game run in the console terminal, for now.
How we built it
We all worked in IntelliJ IDEA
Challenges we ran into
The visuals and structure of a roguelike were difficult, especially because we couldn't manage to get it into a game engine...
Accomplishments that we're proud of
All of it! over 1,500 lines of code, and it works!
What we learned
How to write onto txt files, how to work together at once on IntelliJ, how to work the stopwatch,
What's next for OrderRo
We plan to give it a real UI and visuals after the event! we wish we could've done it here instead...
