Inspiration

Our team was inspired to create an educational game for small restaurants to learn about managing their finances in the food industry.

What it does

Order Up is a restaurant simulator game in which players begin with a humble establishment. By customizing their menu, analyzing their financial metrics, and making critical business decisions, players can climb the ranks and create a 5 star establishment.

How we built it

Order Up was created with java, javafx and gemini api.

Challenges we ran into

Our team faced challenges with implementing and integrating the gemini api, as well as customizing the ui.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the way we were able to achieve and execute our goals and integrate gemini api alongside a functioning ui.

What we learned

We learned a lot about project management, integrating gemini api, and a lot about how to create a financial analyst tool.

What's next for Order Up - Restaurant Simulator

We have many ideas for how to extend Order Up's functionality going forward. We would love for Order Up to become a highly realistic simulator of what it is like to run a restaurant. This would include adding competitors, franchising, advertising budgets, and insurance. The food industry can be a very unforgiving one, but we believe that with Order Up, we will be able to support those who want to achieve their dream of having a thriving establishment.
