*Inspiration Order in Chaos was inspired by the complex relationship between memory, trauma, and the subconscious mind. This project began as an exploration of how AI could be used to create an immersive short film. Drawing from psychological thrillers and the exploration of human consciousness, the story follows Kang Hae-jin, a man trapped in a cycle of nightmares, as he confronts his painful past. The project unfolds a narrative of memory and trauma through AI-generated content. The most significant inspiration came from the way the complex neural network structures created by AI resemble the subconscious mind's process of finding order in chaos. Just as the unconscious mind forms narratives amidst confusion, AI extracts meaning and order from seemingly disordered data. *How I Built the Project The project began by generating images using MidJourney, which were then transformed into video using Veo3, RunwayML, and Kling through the image-to-video process. Afterward, I created the voiceover using ElevenLabs and integrated it into the video. For the core process of exploration and ideation, I used OpenAI’s gptS to brainstorm prompt ideas, and developed the script further with Claude. This approach leveraged AI's creative possibilities to shape the narrative and visual style of the film. *Challenges Faced The biggest challenge was that things didn't always go exactly as planned. AI often generates results in unpredictable ways, so I had to continuously find alternative solutions. However, I learned that these alternatives often guided the project in a better direction than originally intended, highlighting the flexibility and adaptability required when working with AI. The unpredictability of AI generation and the creative breakthroughs it caused ultimately led to a more refined and compelling outcome. *What I Learned This project deepened my understanding of how AI can provide innovative approaches to the creative process. While AI-generated images sometimes produced unexpected results, the challenges and alternatives encountered along the way enriched the project and led it to a more fulfilling direction. I also realized the synergy between AI's creativity and human intuition, which can result in truly remarkable outcomes when combined.
