Inspiration

The inspiration behind our project came from the issue of unequal access to quality education worldwide. Many individuals lack the opportunity to receive a proper education. We believe that everyone should have equal access to quality learning resources, regardless of their circumstances. This led us to come up with the idea of a mobile application that can provide them with a user-friendly platform for accessing educational materials.

What it does

The mobile application we've developed is called Orchid. This application aims to provide a platform where people can easily access a wide range of high-quality learning materials. Users can easily browse through subjects, topics, and formats that interest them. The app hosts interactive quizzes, video lectures, online books, and more, ensuring a full learning experience. Furthermore, we've incorporated AR technology into our app to help students learn through rich visuals in real time and enhance engagement. By making quality educational content accessible to anyone with a smartphone, we aim to enhance their knowledge and skills regardless of their background.

How we built it

We chose to utilize Figma, a powerful design tool, to craft the user interface and user experience of the application.

Challenges we ran into

As beginners in using Figma, we encountered several problems. Some of its functions were initially confusing, but through research, experimentation, and teamwork, we gradually overcame most of these obstacles by experimenting around.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Throughout the project, we were able to collaborate effectively and pool our diverse skills to develop a comprehensive design for the mobile application. We are especially proud of the way we were able to address the challenge of using Figma as beginners, producing a design that reflects our commitment to improving education accessibility.

What we learned

We have learned that Figma not only improved our design skills but also highlighted the importance of accessibility in education. We gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those with limited access to quality learning resources.

What's next for OrchidEdu

Our vision for OrchidEdu is to be a reliable brand where students can enjoy learning while receiving superior education from the finest experts. We plan on collaborating with more organizations and schools for funding, coming up with new features to support students' education as they get older, and also develop more products such as VR.
