I accidently missed mentioning the AMAZING 404 page made by our fabulous team mate Nevus, in the video.

Please take a look at it here: https://courageous-marigold-8fc14a.netlify.app/

If you do not get what to do in it, you need to find a way to light the dark

Inspiration

The design of a website can be a critical factor in determining the success of a business. The impression that you make on your customers can decide if they learn about your business or turn to a competitor. Orchid aims to provide hackers with a complete starting template that can be run with minimal configuration.

What it does

It provides the following services:

  • Curate the best design templates with a preview for each template
  • Allows customization of templates via different themes
  • Allows users to download the complete template. The downloaded templates can be run using only two commands.

How we built it

The designs were created using Figma. The backend uses app write with python SDK for generating the template. Each template is a variation of a base template hosted in the vitamin repository. The template uses daisyUI components. The template is stored in the appwrite storage and modified according to user input. The front end is created using next.js, tailwindcss, and daisyui. And ofc the power of Blahaj was used to complete it.

Challenges we ran into

The templates had to be customized which involved dynamically modifying template for each download. We also had no prior experience with appwrite and had to learn it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Asynchronous communication, replication design into code, Learning Appwrite

What we learned

We learned about teamwork, and how to segregate the tasks among ourselves.

What's next for Orchid

Adding more templates for the users to create their website. Allowing more customization
