Inspiration
AI coding agents are powerful, but coordinating them on real projects is messy. We wanted to build a system that makes multi-agent development more reliable and verifiable.
What it does
Orchestrate coordinates AI coding agents through shared project context, structured workflows, and verification-backed feedback. It prioritizes actual code and test evidence over agents simply claiming success.
How we built it
We built Orchestrate as a TypeScript monorepo with a React and Vite frontend, a Node.js engine, shared workspace packages, and a SQLite-backed project brain. We also implemented authentication and sandboxed command execution.
Challenges we ran into
Designing reliable handoffs, preserving project context, isolating agent execution, and ensuring verification results reflect actual checks rather than agent claims were major challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a working application with a dedicated developer interface, structured orchestration workflows, authentication, and verification-focused architecture.
What we learned
Agent coordination requires more than good prompts. Reliable systems need clear state ownership, structured handoffs, independent verification, and security boundaries.
What's next for Orchestrate
We plan to strengthen sandbox infrastructure, improve persistence and reliability, expand verification workflows, and make coordinating AI coding agents easier for developers.
