Inspiration

Managing personal finance today is fragmented and stressful. Most people use separate apps for banking, budgeting, investing, and expense tracking—yet still lack clarity about where their money is going. We noticed that while data exists, guidance and behavior change are missing. Orbit was inspired by the idea of building a financial co-pilot—something that not only tracks money, but actively helps users make better financial decisions using insights, automation, and AI.

What it does

Orbit is an all-in-one personal finance platform that helps users track, manage, and grow their money from a single dashboard. Key capabilities include: Unified dashboard showing net worth, cash flow, alerts, and credit score Securely connected bank and credit accounts Peer-to-peer transfers and bill payments Budgeting and goal tracking with gamification (XP, streaks, badges) Investment tracking with portfolio allocation insights AI-powered receipt scanning for automatic expense logging An AI financial assistant that answers spending queries and provides proactive advice Orbit turns raw financial data into clear, actionable insights.

What we learned

Financial tools are most effective when they focus on behavior, not just data UX clarity is just as important as backend logic in fintech products AI works best when it simplifies decisions rather than replacing them Modular architecture makes it easier to scale features quickly Hackathons reward execution clarity more than feature overload
