About the project

Orbit Handshake is an early prototype for a new kind of AI interaction page.

Most professional conversations start with fragmented context: a LinkedIn profile, a calendar invite, a few messages, and a meeting where both sides still need to figure out what the other person actually wants.

Orbit Handshake turns this first interaction into a structured, reusable flow.

Instead of only showing a static profile, a person or company can share a live page where visitors can explain why they want to connect, ask initial questions, and receive a guided response based on the owner’s public context, current priorities, and boundaries.

The goal is not to replace the person or pretend to be an AI clone. The goal is to help both sides prepare better before a conversation.

What it does

Orbit Handshake helps a visitor:

  • understand who the owner is and what they are working on
  • explain their intent before a meeting
  • get a clearer sense of whether the conversation is relevant
  • prepare better questions and next steps

For the owner, the page creates a lightweight record of interaction intent. Over time, these interactions can become reusable relationship intelligence: what people ask about, what they misunderstand, what opportunities keep appearing, and what context should be updated.

Why we built it

We started from a broader question: how can AI help people preserve judgment, context, and intent across conversations?

A normal website is too static. A chatbot is often too generic. A meeting note is too late.

Handshake sits before the meeting. It is a public-facing entry point where interaction itself becomes useful context.

How we built it

The current version is a lightweight web prototype connected to Orbit’s product direction around AI persona, interaction traces, and reusable context.

The prototype focuses on the minimum flow:

  1. A person or company shares a public Orbit link.
  2. A visitor explains why they want to connect.
  3. The page responds with relevant context and preparation guidance.
  4. The interaction becomes a starting point for future relationship intelligence.

Challenges

The main challenge is product clarity.

It is easy to describe this as an AI profile, AI clone, chatbot, CRM, or networking tool. But the actual product is more specific: a living interaction page that helps people turn repeated professional conversations into structured, reusable context.

Another challenge is trust. The page must not over-speak on behalf of the owner. It should help visitors prepare, not make decisions for the owner.

What’s next

Next, we are working toward:

  • clearer owner controls
  • better visitor intent capture
  • an owner inbox / brief
  • confirmed interaction traces
  • public and private context boundaries
  • stronger support for founders, business development, community builders, and small teams

Orbit Handshake is part of Orbit’s wider vision: turning human judgment, context, and interaction history into a reusable asset without losing nuance.
