Inspiration

Developers often struggle to understand large codebases, generate implementation plans, and automate repetitive development workflows. While AI assistants can help, they frequently lack deep knowledge of a project's structure and context.

We built Orbit Architect AI to bridge this gap by leveraging GitLab Orbit. By providing AI agents with structured repository context, developers can create intelligent agents that understand their codebase and perform meaningful development tasks rather than simply answering generic questions.

What it does

Orbit Architect AI is an AI-powered platform that enables developers to create repository-aware agents using GitLab Orbit.

The platform allows users to:

  • Connect GitLab repositories securely using OAuth
  • Analyze repository structure and context through GitLab Orbit
  • Generate implementation plans for features and tasks
  • Create specialized AI agents for development workflows
  • Automate repetitive engineering tasks
  • Improve developer productivity through context-aware assistance

How we built it

The project consists of a modern full-stack architecture:
