Students often struggle to balance attendance requirements with opportunities like hackathons, internships, and technical events. ORBIT was envisioned to solve this problem by helping students make informed decisions before missing classes.
What it does
ORBIT is a smart attendance planning platform designed to help students plan their semester using timetables, subject-wise attendance targets, and planned absences. Its vision is to simulate attendance scenarios and help students understand the consequences of their decisions.
How we plan to build it
The planned approach uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the interface, with Python and FastAPI for backend calculations. Future features include timetable-based planning, attendance predictions, and recovery suggestions.
Challenges
The key challenge is designing a practical system that accounts for different subjects, class schedules, academic calendars, and attendance requirements while remaining simple for students to use.
