Opulence Money

Unlike YNAB or Revolut, Opulence Money simplifies managing multiple banks. It offers personalized budgets, automates net worth tracking, and provides clear financial control.

Inspiration

There is no go-to all-in-one finance app. This makes it hard to track net worth, spending, and effectively budget. Current banking apps are many and confusing, so we wanted to create a solution that unifies banking info and takes the chance to provide good personalised advice, such as budgets.

What it does

  • Links to all bank accounts
  • Shows network
  • Shows spending (by category)
  • Suggests budget based on financials
  • Provides personal GenAI feedback on your spending and budgeting

How we built it

  • HTML, CSS, JS on VSCode
  • Git and Github for collaboration and version control
  • SQL and PHP for backend
  • Bootstrap frontend framework
  • Custom Domain

Challenges we ran into

  • None of us have ever done WebDev
  • Never done Git/GitHub collaboration
  • Very inefficient, especially at beginning, as it was a steep learning curve
  • Slow start

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Learnt HTML, CSS, JS
  • Learnt how to collaborate in a team from a technical standpoint (Git)
