Inspiration

The semiconductor and transistor market is a cornerstone of modern technology, yet it often experiences inefficiencies in pricing across different instruments, such as individual stocks and ETFs.

What it does

Our bot monitors the prices of ETFs and individual semiconductor-related companies, dynamically identifying arbitrage opportunities. Using real-time order book data, it executes trades to capitalize on price discrepancies, ensuring optimal performance in a fast-paced market environment.

How we built it

We utilized Python for its versatility and paired it with the OptiBook library to efficiently manage the order books of our selected instruments.

Challenges we ran into

Order Book Complexity: Understanding and processing real-time data from the order books required careful implementation and optimization. Latency Management: Ensuring the bot operated with minimal delay while processing and executing trades was critical for success. Optimise profit with active hedging between ETFs and Stocks

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully built and tested a working arbitrage bot that identifies and exploits market inefficiencies in real-time.

What we learned

The importance of order book mechanics and how they drive market dynamics.

What's next for Optiver Transistor Trading Challenge

Advanced Strategies: Incorporate machine learning algorithms to predict price trends and enhance decision-making.
