Inspiration

We are current Co-op students that are struggling to secure jobs in the current job market, we realized that even some of the most qualified candidates struggle to land interviews when anyone that knows them personally would hire them in a heartbeat.

What it does

Using a AI candidates take an interview which is scored and based on their performance, answers, skills and resume their compatibility is graded for all open job positions in their selected domain. This connects the top candidates to companies instantly and reduces the need for candidates to apply to hundred or thousands of jobs with no results.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge that we faced while creating this project was accurately connecting the candidates to ALL of the job postings that they have a high compatibility score for. It was simple enough to apply to only the candidates favourited jobs but searching through all open job postings was far more difficult.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is our first hackathon and the fact that we were able to put together an application at such a high caliber and performance is a great feeling.

What we learned

We learned so many things during this project, far too many to state here but we'd say the most valuable thing we learned is how to work cohesively on a project as neither of us have done that before and we will have to do that in every job we work at in the future.

What's next for Optima

Make this into an actual startup
Make a built-in lockdown browser when taking a connecting interview
Develop an eye contact tracker and body language tracker and build this into the AI scoring system to further grade the candidates competencies
Add a voice scanner that can understand pitch and tonality to judge voice variance, confidence, and enthusiasm (Could work to become a partial lie detector)
