The growing demand for sustainable practices in industries inspired us to create Optibuddy. With industries facing increasing challenges in achieving operational efficiency while complying with strict environmental regulations, we realized the potential of AI and IoT to provide real-time actionable insights. Our experience with Hexabot’s chatbot framework and its extensibility with plugins sparked the idea to leverage its capabilities for a tailored solution in industrial workflow management.

What it does Optibuddy integrates IoT data with AI-driven insights to provide real-time recommendations for improving energy efficiency, reducing waste, and meeting sustainability targets. Built on Hexabot, it offers seamless communication across ERP modules like HR, supply chain, and CSR. Users can interact with Optibuddy to generate reports, track performance, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations through a single unified platform.

How we built it We developed Optibuddy using the Hexabot chatbot builder, creating custom plugins to fetch and process data from various ERP modules like HR attendance, production analytics, and supply chain management. For AI-powered responses, we integrated the Gemini LLM model to provide tailored recommendations and generate insights dynamically. Each workflow was meticulously designed using Hexabot’s visual editor, linking custom blocks like quick replies, Gemini responses, and API integrations to create a cohesive experience.

Challenges we ran into Plugin Development: While Hexabot allowed for creating plugins, we faced technical issues with debugging and managing complex workflows due to plugin limitations. Bugs during data retrieval and rendering disrupted the intended seamless operation. Time Constraints: The hackathon's limited time required us to prioritize essential features, leaving advanced integrations and optimizations for later development. Data Handling: Simulating ERP data for modules like HR and supply chain without access to real datasets made the process challenging, requiring creative mockups to test workflows. Accomplishments that we're proud of Successfully developed a functional prototype integrating Hexabot plugins and workflows tailored to industrial needs. Enabled seamless interaction between Hexabot blocks, custom plugins, and the Gemini LLM to deliver accurate and meaningful responses. Designed a user-friendly interface that combines technical depth with accessibility for various user levels. We are yet to finish implementing the flows due to time constraints and we still did not implement it in our web app channel.But we are determined to finish this project even after the hackathon time ends. What we learned Mastering Hexabot’s plugin system and exploring its extensibility for integrating third-party APIs like IoT tracking and environmental compliance tools. Balancing technical complexity with usability to ensure a smooth user experience. The importance of robust debugging and time management in achieving critical milestones during fast-paced development. What's next for Optibuddy Advanced Plugin Features: Expand plugin capabilities to handle complex workflows and ensure seamless API integration for real-time data insights. Pilot Testing: Deploy Optibuddy in a controlled industrial environment to refine its workflows and validate its impact on operational efficiency. Scalability: Optimize for larger-scale deployments, focusing on multi-site industries and cross-border compliance needs. Enhanced AI Capabilities: Further customize the Gemini model to include advanced domain-specific knowledge for even more accurate and actionable insights.
