Inspiration
Student builders and small teams often have strong ideas but lose momentum when requests, decisions, and follow-up actions are scattered across different places.
What it does
OpsPilot is an AI operations workspace that turns unstructured requests into prioritized, explainable workflows. It clarifies ownership, surfaces next actions, and keeps progress visible.
How we built it
We built OpsPilot with Python and Streamlit, using the AWS Strands Agents SDK and Amazon Nova Lite. GitHub and Markdown-based project context keep the workflow transparent and repeatable.
Key features
- Converts unstructured requests into practical workflow plans.
- Explains priorities instead of hiding the AI reasoning.
- Highlights owners, next steps, and follow-up status.
- Gives small teams a lightweight workspace for real projects.
Challenges we ran into
We focused on making AI-assisted planning useful without making the workflow opaque. The interface had to remain simple enough for student and community teams while still exposing why a task was prioritized.
Accomplishments
We created a working AI operations prototype with a clear path from incoming request to accountable follow-through.
What we learned
Good AI assistance is not only about generating output; it is also about making decisions understandable and turning them into actions people can own.
What's next
We plan to add richer team collaboration, more integrations, and impact-oriented templates for community and sustainability projects.
